Spring is here and we are hard at work organizing
fundraising events, visiting churches, and bringing together a community that
wants to be involved in supporting our mission. So far we have raised just over
$5,000 and are steadily approaching our goal of $20,000, but we still have a
ways to go before August.
We have visited St. Nicholas’, Maumelle; St. Michael’s,
Little Rock. We visited and gave the sermon at St. Mark’s, Jonesboro and did
some painting with our young adult group for St. Stephen’s, Blytheville. We
would like to thank all of the congregations that have let us visit so far.
We are still working to set up dates when we can visit as
many churches in the diocese as we can before our departure in August. So please!
Send us a list of dates that would work for your congregation and we’ll find
one that can work in our schedule.
Keep an eye on our Give Your Support page. We have several
fundraising events that are coming up soon: April 10th will be the
first day that you can eat at Cici’s Pizza in Conway to benefit our cause so
bring the baseball team! May 6th we are hosting a dinner and silent
auction up at Camp Mitchell. On May 27th there will be a Pentecost
run hosted at St. Peter’s, Conway.
If anyone has any art pieces, services, or neat things of
value to donate to the auction, LET US KNOW!
Once again, a big thanks to all of you for your help and
support. Thanks to the congregations that have let us come and be a part of
their community. We hope to share your enthusiasm, energy, and light with the
people we will be serving with in Japan.
Your fellow servants in Christ,
Doug and Jenny
