(All the basic information on our mission to Japan is at the bottom of this page under our first post!)
Hope everyone had a great Lenten season and is enjoying the Easter season! We were able to spend some time in our home churches: St. Peter's, Conway, and St. Michael's, Little Rock. That was really nice since we've been traveling around the state visiting churches for the past few weekends.
Yesterday, April the 10th, at Cici's pizza in Conway, was our first Tuesday when customers could donate 10% of their pizza bill to our mission. We were covered up in school and discernment committee meetings and could not go. But the event will continue on every second Tuesday of the month, so we hope to see you there on May 8th.
Now we are getting our fundraising schedule tacked down for the summer. We'll graduate college in early May! Then it's off to Petit Jean mountain for a fundraising dinner and silent auction at Camp Mitchell on the evening of May 6th. We've just set up a facebook event for it: http://www.facebook.com/events/426526884030205/ so talk it up. Hope to see you all there!
Then we are headed West to visit prospective graduate schools and explore the land! We will be stopping in Norman, Oklahoma on our way to visit St. Michae'ls Episcopal Church where Jenny's uncle is priest.
We will be visiting St. Mark's, Little Rock on Sunday, June 3 to share with them our upcoming adventures. We are also excited to be visiting Grace Episcopal in Siloam Springs. They are good friends and partners in a previous mission we journeyed together in Guatemala. We'll be spending Sunday, June 24th with them.
Thanks to everyone who has helped so far in donating their time, money, art, prayers, and words of excitement and support. We really feel this is coming together and are so thrilled to have so much support from all of you. We are just buzzing with a feeling that great things are possible!
Your servants in Christ,
Jenny and Doug
